Microsoft is at it again. This time with Windows 7 and once again they have managed to copy every other OS in the world without adding any ideas of its own. So what will make Windows 7 suck? The very thing that made Windows vista suck, Windows 7 is Windows Vista.
The new taskbar is a blatant copy of Mac OS X. Despite the many Microsoft guys claiming Windows 1 was the inspiration, we all know where it came from. I do so wish Microsoft would just fess up and tell us what we all already know. The new wireless control is a very blatent copy of Network Manager and Bitlocker is simply a modified copy of TrueCrypt. So now, in Microsofts reality stealing ideas is called innovation. Right.
I have heard several Microsoft employees, including one from Channel 9 say they have run Windows 7 or Vista R2 on netbooks, funny we havent seen that, and that they have run Windows 7 on lesser hardware such as 5 or 6 year old PC's, yet we havent seen any evidence of that either. I want to see proof and I want to see the Windows 7 experience grade thing on those systems. I think we will not have that proof. Its Microsoft trying to con you into upgrading. Its very unlikely that Microsoft developers have had the competence and time to shape Windows 7 kernel into something thats so drastically different from Windows Vista. So lets see some proof of these claims. Reporters and journalists have had a problem with Microsofts claims and have said as much that performance on Microsoft provided systems was less than optimal.
So it looks like Microsoft is starting its downward spiral into the same fate that struck OS/2 and OpenVMS. Windows is dead. Time to move to Linux or Mac OS X. Windows 7 is more of the same.

Obama as president and a review of PCOS
Sorry its taken me so long to post anything. I was so pissed that Obama is our new president I didnt want to post anything that would get me a free trip to Guantanamo Bay. What do I think of Obama as president? I think America made the wrong choice. The man is not fit to lead, he has no experience and he was much more in tune with the tech industry than Obama is or was. But I guess we have to keep him, like a dog that keeps coming around. Feed him once and you cant get rid of him. Obama in office means we will get attacked again and tragedy will strike once more. Good luck to us for the next 4 years when a republican will most assuredly take office again.
Now comes the second topic. PCOS. This is a Microsoft sponsored distro that is often promoted on Channel 9 but I watch Distrowatch and this distro is getting popular. Its neck and neck with my preferred distro gNewSense. So I looked at the FTP servers and it seems rj from channel 9 posted version 2009. Once clue rj, dont use years it makes your distro look dated. Anyhow. I downloaded the new ISO burned it and ran a live session and I am a man who will admit when Im wrong. And I was wrong. PCOS is not a bad distro in terms of usability. It has some great tools included, GNOME Office, Exaile and Firefox being my favorites. Prism is there to run Google stuff and he even has a prism link to Live Mail which I think is stupid since no one uses live mail. It has Flash and all the proprietary goodness that you dont need but some real work has gone into the interface and its pretty. In essence it kind of reminds me of Calderas distro from long ago. So if you are brain dead and dont want to learn Linux its a good way to go. Personally if you are a Linspire refugee and dont care about your freedoms and dont mind selling out to the man I think its one of the better ones than even Linux Mint. So if you want an easy to use distro with good performance and a good engine give it a try, its not bad just be cautious since it is tied to M$ and when Windows 7 is released PCOS will most likely disappear.
