Sorry its taken me so long to post anything. I was so pissed that Obama is our new president I didnt want to post anything that would get me a free trip to Guantanamo Bay. What do I think of Obama as president? I think America made the wrong choice. The man is not fit to lead, he has no experience and he was much more in tune with the tech industry than Obama is or was. But I guess we have to keep him, like a dog that keeps coming around. Feed him once and you cant get rid of him. Obama in office means we will get attacked again and tragedy will strike once more. Good luck to us for the next 4 years when a republican will most assuredly take office again.
Now comes the second topic. PCOS. This is a Microsoft sponsored distro that is often promoted on Channel 9 but I watch Distrowatch and this distro is getting popular. Its neck and neck with my preferred distro gNewSense. So I looked at the FTP servers and it seems rj from channel 9 posted version 2009. Once clue rj, dont use years it makes your distro look dated. Anyhow. I downloaded the new ISO burned it and ran a live session and I am a man who will admit when Im wrong. And I was wrong. PCOS is not a bad distro in terms of usability. It has some great tools included, GNOME Office, Exaile and Firefox being my favorites. Prism is there to run Google stuff and he even has a prism link to Live Mail which I think is stupid since no one uses live mail. It has Flash and all the proprietary goodness that you dont need but some real work has gone into the interface and its pretty. In essence it kind of reminds me of Calderas distro from long ago. So if you are brain dead and dont want to learn Linux its a good way to go. Personally if you are a Linspire refugee and dont care about your freedoms and dont mind selling out to the man I think its one of the better ones than even Linux Mint. So if you want an easy to use distro with good performance and a good engine give it a try, its not bad just be cautious since it is tied to M$ and when Windows 7 is released PCOS will most likely disappear.
